In 2021, the Texas Commission on the Arts officially designated Fair Park and parts of South Dallas as a cultural district. This exciting milestone opens up opportunities for Fair Park First to seek resources and uplift our community's rich cultural assets. We are reaching out to you for your valuable help and feedback as we embark on next steps and an official branding exercise.

The current Cultural District includes Fair Park's historic campus and the surrounding areas of Expo Park, South Boulevard-Park Row Historic District, Wheatley Place Historic District, Queen City, Jubilee Park, and Forest Heights. Fair Park serves as the central-east hub, with Expo Park and Ash Studios to the north, the South Dallas Cultural Center and Juanita Craft's historic home to the south, and the iconic Forest Theater and its new district to the west. Fair Park First, as the managing entity, values your input in capturing the essence of our community's important makers, stories, and traditions. Share with us the significant narratives and rich cultural heritage that you think should be celebrated within the district.
